Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson ob"m, daughter of the Rebbe Rayatz and wife of sixty years of the Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, passed away on the 22nd of Shevat in 5748 - 1988.
As the Rebbe and his chasidim mourned in the days that followed, the Rebbe spoke about the Rebbetzin, and urging that they learn from her lifetime and engage in good deeds in her merit.

For much of the year that followed, the Rebbe remained in the home which he had shared with the Rebbetzin, opening it to the public.
